Feed Hopper
A feed hopper is a containment vessel used in manufacturing or processing operations. Its primary function is to store and dispense materials, such as plastic pellets, powders, grains, metal powders, or other raw materials, into machinery or production lines in a continuous and controlled manner.
Primary Functions of a Feed Hopper:
- Material Storage: Serves as a holding point for materials prior to subsequent processing.
- Flow Control: Facilitates the controlled flow of materials into machinery at the desired rate (some designs incorporate valves or feeders for regulation).
- Material Containment: Prevents material spillage or loss.
- Production Efficiency Enhancement: Minimizes production downtime by allowing for pre-emptive material replenishment.
