Description

NPN Photo Interrupter Sensor, Fork Type, EE-SX673WR
The EE-SX673WR is a Photo Interrupter sensor that utilizes an Infrared Light Beam. When an object passes through the sensing gap and interrupts the beam, the sensor outputs a signal for precise control in automated systems.
Its Fork Type construction simplifies installation, eliminating the need for precise alignment between separate emitter and receiver units. This sensor offers high sensitivity, making it ideal for detecting small objects or counting parts in automated systems such as packaging machines, counters, conveyor systems, or other industrial machinery requiring high precision.
Technical Specifications
- Model: EE-SX673WR
- Output Type: NPN (Open Collector)
- Sensing Distance: 5 mm gap width
- Supply Voltage: 5 – 24 VDC
- Current Consumption: ≤ 35 mA
- Output Current: ≤ 50 mA
- Response Time: ≤ 1 ms
- Housing Material: High-impact, heat-resistant plastic
- Cable: 3-wire (Brown = +V, Blue = 0V, Black = Output)
- Mounting: Screw mounting via side holes
- Operating Temperature: -25°C to +55°C
- Protection Rating: IP50
Operating Principle
The sensor internally comprises an emitter and a receiver positioned opposite each other. When no object is present, the infrared beam travels unimpeded, and the sensor remains inactive.
However, when an object enters the gap and interrupts the beam, the sensor detects this change and immediately outputs a signal to activate the control system as configured.
Applications
- Automatic parts counting systems
- Industrial production line conveyor systems
- Packaging machines
- Position or edge detection systems
- Labeling machines
- Automation systems or Robot Arms
